Saturday April 9th 7;30am to 10:30am: The Bears Den in Byron is hosting an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake feed... This is the 2nd year the Bears Den has stepped forward with this great support!

Saturday April 16th 9am-3am!: Scrappin' For A Cure in Lanesboro.. Details below.

Scrappin' For a Cure!! A fund raising event for the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

• 18 Hours of Scrapbooking, card making & crafting fun!

The volunteer planning committee is discussing many fun events for this years Roll & Stroll! If you'd like to volunteer with the planning or on event day. Please send us an email at rollandstroll@hotmail.com

• What: Roll & Stroll is people coming together to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, while showing support for those we love. This years event is estimated to take us over 1/4 Million dollars raised! Great work everyone!
• Why: There is no cure. Type 1 diabetes can affect many major organs in your body, including your heart, blood vessels, nerves, eyes and kidneys. Eventually, diabetes complications may be disabling or even life-threatening.
• When: May 15, 2011, 1-4pm (registration starts at noon)
• Where: Soldiers Field, Rochester MN - Picnic Shelter next to golf course

We're bringing back many of the favorites...

Below you'll find some additional details of the 2010 event. We start with registration at noon on May 16th, then the party continues with the walk/run/ride kicking off at 1pm. If you'd like to request a Roll & Stroll Flier you can do so by sending an email to rollandstroll@hotmail.com

General:
This family friendly event is organized by local families who are touched by diabetes. We promise a day filled with friendship, camaraderie, games, music and FUN! Bike, walk, rollerblade, skateboard, jog or push a stroller/wagon, etc. along a 3 mile course (1 1/2 miles out & back) starting at Soldier's Memorial Field.

Roll & Stroll benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF's mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications. Over 85% of all funds raised goes directly to research.

The 2nd annual Team Spirit will be award at this years' Roll & Stroll! Your team will be asked to march past the judges and will be judged on team attire! Be creative, have fun! Click HERE for some team spirit ideas.

After registering, you can return to Walk Central whenever you'd like and take advantage of the handy online fundraising tools to create your personal fundraising page, track online donations, and watch your goal thermometer rise!

2. Enter your personal information

Wow! What a fantastic day! Over $1100 was raised at the Bears Den Pancake Feed!

Thanks to all who attended, volunteered and wished us well! Also a great thanks to the Bears Den for hosting and supporting our efforts!

We have a couple guests from KAAL joining our efforts on Saturday April 17th. Anchors Ericka Miller and Betsy Singer will be among the dedicated volunteers that morning. Should be a fun time, and thanks in advance to everyone who plans to attend!

Sneaker Sales

Along with hosting the Pancake Feed for JDRF (details in the post below), the Bears Den will be selling paper Sneakers that you can put your name on, and they will use it to decorate the Restaurant and Bar. Sneaker sales should start soon! They're just a $1 donation, so please contribute if you can!

Then in May.... join us for the 5th annual Roll & Stroll for JDRF to be held on May 16 from noon to 4pm at Rochester Soldiers Field! Come out and join us for a great afternoon! There will be music, games, prizes, silent auction, and you can walk, run or ride the 3 mile course! This really is a family fun event.
